PADI Scuba Diver
During this one and a half day entry-level certification course you will learn the basics of scuba diving. You will spend half a day in the classroom, half a day in confined water as well as half a day on the boat, conducting 2 open water dives. As the course does not contain any decompression theory, the certification restricts you to dive only under the supervision of a dive professional and to a maximum depth of 12 metres. This course is basically half the Open Water Diver course and is designed for people who only want to dive with dive professionals and not below 12 meters or who are restricted in time. You can upgrade from your PADI Scuba Diver certification to the PADI Open Water Diver certification with any PADI Resort/ Dive Center or PADI Instructor, anytime in the future, anywhere in the world.
Course requirements:
You should be medically fit and a moderate swimmer. Prior diving experience is not necessary for this course; however some snorkel experience will help.
Minimum age: 12 years (10 and 11 years old children can participate on instructors discretion) for “Junior Scuba Diver” certification, 15 years for “Scuba Diver” certification.
Note: * see Junior Diver Restrictions below

In summary within the 3 day course you will spend two half days on the boat, during which you will conduct 4 open water training dives.
With this certification you can buy or hire dive gear, get tanks filled and of course dive anywhere in the world, as long as you have a buddy who is also certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or higher.
