If you are seeking a career in the recreational dive industry, the first step is to become a divemaster. The PADI Divemaster rating is the first professional level certification. During our Divemaster program you will broaden your understanding and knowledge of all aspects of diving. You will also learn the fundamentals about working in the modern dive industry.
The PADI Divemaster course is a very comprehensive course and requires a fair amount of study time. It also involves stamina tests and many in-water assessments. Topics and practical workshops of the Divemaster course include the following:
During our PADI Divemaster program in Rarotonga you will also gain skills in customer service, office work, equipment maintenance and repair, compressor operations as well as boat handling.
To enrol in our PADI Divemaster program you must meet a set number of minimum requirements to be considered for our program. Amongst others, you must be 18 years or older and own your own full set of scuba gear (except tank and weights). You have to be a PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent and hold a recent 1st Aid and CPR certificate not older than 2 years. You need an absolute minimum of 40 logged dives, but more are preferred. You must also have a valid dive medical signed by a physician within the last two years. And last, you should be a competent swimmer and overall very comfortable in the water.
