Our SSI Extended Range Centre offers a range of technical diving and non-diving courses. Learn how to use new equipment configurations and dive beyond recreational diving limits.

SSI Extended Range Nitrox Diving

During the SSI Extended Range Nitrox Diving course you will learn to use new equipment configurations to extend your bottom time. We will teach you to independently plan and safely conduct decompression dives with a maximum accumulated decompression time of 15 minutes, up to a maximum depth of 40 metres, using a twinset and single stage cylinder and decompression gas up to 50% oxygen.

Course prerequisites

18 years
Enriched Air Nitrox certification
SSI Deep Diving certification or equivalent
24 logged dives
Capable of carrying 35 kg on your back

XR Water Fitness Evaluation
1 confined water dive
4 open water dives
2 to 3 days in total for practical training

SSI Extended Range

During the SSI Extended Range course you will learn how to safely venture beyond recreational diving limits. Using a twinset and single stage cylinder, you will learn to conduct decompression dives up to a maximum depth of 45 metres, with a maximum accumulated decompression time of 25 minutes and using decompression gas up to 100% oxygen.
