Adventure Cook Islands - Scuba diving in Rarotonga and hire
Adventure Cook Islands Dive Centre and Rental Specialist
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is the next step up from the Open Water Diver certification. If you want to extend your dive knowledge, gain new skills, explore new dive sites and have fun, this is the right course for you.
The purpose of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is to advance your underwater knowledge and dive skills. You will build confidence in different diving activities during five Adventure Dives
Knowledge development of the course consists of self-studying of the chapters to the specific Adventure Dives that you will do. You will complete knowledge reviews prior to each dive, just to make sure that all study topics are understood. You have two options to complete the knowledge development:
You complete the knowledge development with a hardcopy book while you are in Rarotonga. Our instructor will check the completed knowledge reviews prior to the dive.
You complete the knowledge development online through PADI’s elearning system from the comfort of your home before you get here. This option will save you valuable holiday time.
The pracical part of our PADI Advanced Open Water course consists of five Adventure Dives around Rarotonga. Adventure Dives are dives with a focus on different diving activities, such as underwater navigation, deep diving, wreck diving or underwater imaging. Underwater navigation and deep diving are required dives. You will also choose another three Adventure Dives from a list of elective dive options.
All our Adventure Dives in Rarotonga are boat dives and one of our instructors will be at your side during all training dives.
You may choose to complete only some of the five required Adventure Dives with us. You can always complete the remaining dives on a later date and in a different place with another PADI Dive Centre. After completing three Adventure Dives, you can get certified as a PADI Adventure Diver.
