Most marine life on coral reefs is found between 0 and 20 metres and often there is no need to dive deep to have interesting dives. However, deep diving exercises a fascination for many divers. Sometimes the allure to dive deep is a specific object like an old anchor, a structure like a ship wreck or maybe interesting marine life that is only found atdeeper depth. Rarotonga’s deeper reef topography offers fascinating drop-off’s waiting to be explored.
During the PADI Deep Diver course you will explore deeper dive sites up to 40m with confidence. You will learn about specialized equipment for deep diving as well as deep diving safety considerations. You will plan your deep dives and learn about managing your gas supply and how to deal with nitrogen narcosis.
The first step is to complete the PADI Deep Diver academic part of the course online through PADI’s elearning system. The knowledge development for the Deep Diver course can be completed in as little as half a day.
To complete your PADI Deep Diver training in Rarotonga you will conduct 4 deep dives with one of our PADI Deep Diver instructors, up to a maximum depth of 40 metres. You will need two half days (split over 2 days) for the 4 open water dives.
