Adventure Cook Islands Dive Centre and Rental Specialist
During our basic learn to dive course in Rarotonga you will gain your PADI Scuba Diver certification in as little as 1.5 days. Your PADI dive certification is recogonised worldwide.
The PADI Scuba Diver course is a basic entry-level dive certification course. The dive course can be completed with us in Rarotonga in only three half days. During the course you will learn the foundations of scuba diving. You will learn basic dive theory and you will practice basic scuba dive skills. Furthermore, you will complete two open water dives with our experienced PADI instructors on real dive sites in Rarotonga.
During the PADI Scuba Diver course you will cover the first three out of five chapters of theory of the PADI Open Water Diver course. You will also practice diving skills from the first three out of five modules of confined water training of the PADI Open Water Diver course. To finish your course, you will successfully complete the first two out of four open water dives of the PADI Open Water Diver course. The PADI Scuba Diver course is basically half the PADI Open Water Diver course. It also only takes about half the time to complete.
Once you have successfully completed the two open water training dives, you have earned your PADI Scuba Diver certification. The PADI Scuba DIver certification restricts you to dive only under the supervision of a dive professional. In addition,it limits you to dive only to a maximum depth of 12 metres.
So why would you want to enrol in the Scuba Diver course instead of the PADI Open Water course? There are a few reasons why you may choose the Scuba Diver course over the Open Water course. For instance, the Scuba Diver course is the right course for you if you only want to dive with a divemaster or instructor. Or, if you only want to stay shallow and do not want to dive deeper than 12 metres. Another reason to choose the PADI Scuba Diver course over the PADI Open Water Diver course is if you are restricted in time.
As a certified PADI Scuba Diver you can upgrade to the PADI Open Water Diver certification with any PADI Resort, PADI Dive Center or PADI Instructor, anytime in the future, anywhere in the world.
You need to be fit and healthy and a moderate swimmer (see medical form here). Prior diving experience is not necessary for this course; however some snorkel experience is required. Minimum age: 12 years (10 and 11 years old children can participate on instructors discretion) for “Junior Scuba Diver” certification, 15 years for “Scuba Diver” certification.
